Tanjiro Kamado is a fictional character from the anime Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba, in the anime he is the brother of Nezuko, who was the only one who survived along with him after they attacked his family and murdered them.
History of Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro Kamado’s story begins in a very sad way, as he was not at home and when he arrived everyone was dead except for his sister Nezuko, with this event he embarks on a path to become a pillar, this after making a promise to the patron (general warrior of the pillars in Demon Slayer), who gives him the opportunity to make good on his promise and in return they would help him find a cure for his sister, in addition to Tanjiro also wanting what happened to him to never happen to another family again.
This is how Tanjiro Kamado goes through very hard training from the selection until he faces and defeats the upper moons, lower moons and normal demons without yet being a pillar. This in the company of Zenitsu and Inosuke, who fight on par and together long for the path of becoming very strong pillars to finish off the demons and the one who created them: “Muzan”.

Tanjiro Kamado wears those earrings because his father always wore them that way and it became a generational thing, but his father started wearing them ever since he met Yoriichi the first user of the sun breathing, to whom he made the promise that he would pass on his sacred dance of the Fire God to his generations but sadly after the regrettable event where his family dies, he could no longer do it, with Tanjiro being the only one who learned it by observing his father.
What Tanjiro’s katana means
The meaning of Tanjiro’s katana was revealing, because when he got his first katana it was supposed to turn a color but ohh surprise, his katana turned black meaning that he was an original wielder of the sun breathing, although well his master who prepared him for the final selection taught him the water breathing, his true breathing that Tanjiro had in his heart and soul is the sun breathing that he has learned all his life since he was little.
